No veteran shall be left behind.
Thanks to the 1012+ powerful voices of our veteran community, local advocates, and the leaders who listened, RTS will now shuttle veterans to the VA Outpatient Clinic! Starting July 14, Monday-Friday 7:30am-2:30pm, a new shuttle service will transit veterans and community members every 20 minutes between Hylan Drive Connection Hub & Marketplace mall to the VA Outpatient Clinic on Calkins Road.
This victory is more than transportation, it is about access to healthcare, respect for our service, and the power of collective action.
🎗️📝 To our fellow veterans who signed, shared, posted our sticker, and spoke up, this would not have been possible without you. Your stories moved hearts, but your advocacy moved systems!
⭐️🙏🏾We would like to thank the Latino Military Coalition for their persistence in making this mountain move for our veterans' access to healthcare. Thank you to our community allies, New York State, Monroe County, & the City of Rochester elected officials, RTS, and VA leadership who took our concerns seriously and took action. Special thank you to Combat News, Sarge Mitchell, Sam LoTemple, Tracy DiFlorio, Paul Ippolito, Bill Adams, and Channel 8’s Oran Spitzer. Your support shows what is possible when leadership listens and gives us a voice to share our lived experience.
To every person who believed in this cause: You were seen. You were heard. And together, we made change happen.
This is a reminder that when we show up for each other, we win for equity, dignity, and the voices of all veterans.
